In terms of energy and matter, in space and time,  I’ve studied “data of comparable magnitude” to the descriptions of these in Scientology.

In an essay entitled On the Electrodynamics of Moving Bodies, Albert Einstein lays out his “special relativity” theory.

Einstein defines time as “that which clocks measure”.  The question I had when reading the above was what the heck is the “that” which is being measured by the clock?  It isn’t defined in the essay.

A thorough study of the investigations by L. Ron Hubbard into the topic of time, including the study of the Research and Discovery Volumes for the years from 1950 up through to the London lectures just prior to the PDCs,  and the PDCs, the fall and winter of 1952, includes his efforts to understand how time impinged on the being, and of course, what is time itself.

Time is basically a consideration that space and particles will persist.  Mechanically, this ongoing postulate (the consideration) is achieved and manifests by the change of position of particles in space.  The constant shift, according to an agreed upon rate, of every single particle in space, to a different position gives us the continuous now of the persistence of stuff known as “time”.  It’s going  “space, particles, position”, “space, particles, position” and shift, shift, shift.

One of the ways to understand this is from a paradox given by Zeno of Elea, way back when, that of the Moving Arrow.  Does it actually move?  If you can spot a position of the arrow, that is a specific location, then it isn’t moving, but it seems to be moving so how can you determine a position?  Hence the paradox.  20th Century physics found a comparable paradox, and it is described in the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle.

Consider a movie.  A film is a series of still photographs sped up to a speed of frames per second, to give the illusion of motion. The “time stream” is the illusion of continuous motion that is like a series of stills moving along at a rate.

Now we can get to a definition of time that makes sense for the statement “that which clocks measure”.  The fundamental clock would measure the agreed upon rate of change that mechanically tracks the fundamental consideration of persisting.  It would be the “frame rate” of this agreed upon matter, energy, shifting in space universe, giving us time – the persistence of all of this stuff – which is measured by clocks.

Classical Mechanics is the subject of the interaction of forces on objects.  Quantum Mechanics takes the very smallest objects and forces and works with them. These are the atomic and sub-atomic bits and energies acting among them.  It is called “quantum” due to the discovery that rather than a continuous, infinitely small series of motions among these itty bits of stuff and forces, they seem to be in discrete packets and move in steps.  These amounts are not infinitesimally small, as Classical Mechanics assumed, but reach a point where they have the characteristic of coming in exact quantities, so-called “quanta”, or the singular “quantum”.  So, for instance, the energy level of an electron, as one of the objects at the sub-atomic level, is changed by a photon, one of the energy bits, in steps, or by a “quantum” and it goes from say 1 to 2 in its shifts in energy, with no in-betweenie of 1.5.

Matter, energy, in space, acts by discrete “jumps”. Time itself is nothing more than the persistence of matter and energy in space, all of which are jumping along, one particular arrangement of them to the next.  Time is an abstract in that it isn’t a “something”, but a manifestation of the somethings, the energy and matter in space, that persists.

Perhaps, way down there among all these bits (dimension points) there is one whose shift in the universe, is the basic “frame rate”.  Maybe it is the photon.  LRH tossed out for discussion’s sake and as a hypothetical basic that 1/c, that is, 1 divided by the speed of electromagnetic radiation/light could be thought of as the basic shift.  The basic “quantum leap” as it were.

It is the average of agreement of how things shift. The fundamental is after all, an agreed upon consideration.  Many viewpoints interacting, not one absolute.

In other words, one would account for the most fundamental shift, the basic quantum, that would cover the fastest moving particles that make up the coagulated dimension points  that give us the microscopic and macroscopic universe we are putting out there, and we’d have the agreed upon rate of time, for this particular universe.

The discovery and description of the Static, of space, of energy and time, that is contained in Scientology, opens the door to a whole new era of physics.  That new era is one where instead of “observation of effect”,  the results of considerations, the source of the consideration is taken into account, not left as “Nature” or “Bang” or whatever you want to call some no-responsibility-for “god” somewhere causing all this observed effect.

Knowing the Axioms, honestly accomplishing the real states of being of the OT Levels, and application of the KRC gained by a full grasp of the truths of Scientology, to the greater survival of the Dynamics, can and will gain us the stars, or anything else we care to create.

  1. Hi Jim, thanks again for another forensic dissection of a subject that puzzles many. I’m sure it helped you clarify these ideas by having to figure the easy English expression of tricky concepts. You succeeded by the way, i really got it. I tried the LRH suggested calculation of 1/c (3×10 to the eighth power), and just got an error from my calculator, need a better one! Now we just need to make men (and women) with the responsibility to see and re-invent what we need to re-own (not conquer) this universe.

      Exactly – re-own our postulates. Each being has to come up through their own agreements, finding what is real/true for themselves.

      The only reason Scientology works is because a being has made the postulates or agreed to them. One is working their way through their own decisions, obfuscated, complexified, and now buried.

  2. My understanding, from the axioms, is that time is simply the fact of persistance which is the manifestation of alter is or change. If there was a universe where there was no change whatsoever thm time could be said not to exist in that universe. All time would be one time. Ron said that time is the primary manifestation of change. It is the record of alteration that occurs. The rate of change in the physical universe is more or less constant and so time is constant also and can then, be measured or recordered using devices such as clocks. In the theta universe alteris and pereststance is subject to postulate and theta decision and so the same laws with regard to ‘time’ do not exist unloess it is decided by theta they do.

    • Michael,
      Persistence can occur just because you say so. Mechanically, i.e., by a “device”, it can be achieved by alter-is of the basic consideration that brought about whatever it is you want to persist. You can assign its creation to some other source, pretend it is other than it is, put it on automatic and created from “over there” etc.

      The postulate of persist is basic. Alter-is, is a mechanical means, change of space/particle/position is the manifestation, the phenomena, viewed.

      MEST is mechanical, in that it is a something that operates along, with stuff interacting, a “machine”.

      A moment in “time” is one particular point of the change of all that stuff interacting. If it doesn’t shift along with the rest of the stuff, it APPEARS “timeless”, in that it appears to have not changed along with everything else. If it’s still there, it’s in the time stream of ever shifting space/particles/position, but with a twist in that it seems to have parked itself and is stuck on the tracks.

      You could have an agreed upon universe that had time plodding along by “no change”. Those objects created exist because they don’t change, mechanically, rather than this one, where they do.

      The MEST universe is nothing more than solid mock-ups. Changing at an agreed upon pace. Facsimiles of it, packed up in a case, are of the same stuff – what we create. Hanging on to that stuff, havingness, and the postulates to have, gives us time, and we can still have if we alter-is according to the considerations of the Axioms.

      Those Axioms ARE postulates, too. Theta can consider it is in time, but has to be an object to achieve it, and then it’s MEST to some degree.

      There is a drill you can do, spot three spots in the body, three spots in the environment, that can give an exterior view to these mechanical things, matter, energy, space and time.

  3. Time, that ‘rascally wabbit!’
    Ran into an interesting manifestation of it last week when I restudied the Factors once again. Something about that data attracted my attention, as it has since I first read them but it just didn’t seem all that workable this time around and something was confusing. Yet at other times in the past it was completely workable – I then realised it was dependent upon what I was trying to figure out or what was on my attention.
    I set forth my study tech once again upon the situation of why was I confused and mechanically set forth to ‘solve’ the study bug. Not much luck I’m afraid.
    It wasn’t to about 3am when I sat bolt upright in bed and said something like “Eureka!” and rushed to my green volumes and dug up Data Series 2 – Logic. The Factors seemed illogical to me for some reason earlier that day. And there was the solution right on the page in front on me – Dropped out time! The Factors cover the very inception of the considerations and actions that give us not only the phenomena of time but also of light/energy and the very beginning of life itself. But it also gives a reference to which evaluate from, a prior decision – To be. Wow, bit of responsibility required accepting the workability of making a decision like that and the sheer volume of time created from that decision makes a single meat body lifetime evaluation a bit redundant to get an overall view of such data.
    I realised I was being awfully ‘human’ about evaluating the Factors this time around. Then the best example of time fell out of my own personal observation. I have in the past run countless incidents on PCs in session, some of them powerfully charged engrams. But the way a PC can run though an incident which in the MEST universe took hours to record. But the PC can relive and recreate the incident in matter of moments and then gets awfully cocky about the whole thing and suddenly takes full causative control over the incident, drained (as-ised) the charge, goes VGIs and the needle goes bing bing from pin to pin. What has the PC done? – mastered time! And literally is now having fun with it but the real clincher comes with practical observation of running past life incidents and the truth of it is verified by TA action and PC indicators.
    This might not seem to align with quantum physics explanations but oh boy, yes it does. Just who made that recorded energy and then put a time stamp on it? Those dimension points (energy) didn’t make themselves, it just seems as though they did. How to define such abstract phenomena becomes a game in itself.
    Correct evaluation and the use of gradient scales is just another tricky aspect of looking at that rascally wabbit.
