Moving up The Bridge gives one certainty, stability, expansion across the dynamics, and a wisdom second to none.
Over the last 5 years, through Milestone Two, I have had the privilege of meeting hundreds of Scientologists around the world – each with their own story, own experiences and own resolutions. With each, I have worked to listen, understand and acknowledge. For those that wanted assistance or guidance, I do my best to help. Many we have audited or trained. For some we just listen.
I have tried to stay as neutral as possible when it comes to Independent Scientology field infighting. I have no interest in factions or rumours. And I have kept out of the anti-Scientology debates and have tried to prevent it from being the focus of this blog. I have instead worked to keep a steady eye on the goal — moving up both the auditing and training sides of LRH’s Bridge.
There are unfortunately not vast numbers of people I know who have made significant progress on The Bridge in the last several years. There are a myriad of reasons why – lack of time, lack of money, can’t take time off work, can’t travel to see an auditor, elderly parents being cared for, or other problems or issues. A significant portion of those persons who fall into this category have spent lots of time on anti-Scn blogs, FB groups and websites and have moved away from Scientology entirely (publicly) or have quietly gone mutual out-ruds and simply withdrawn communication after buying into lies and black PR.
There is an inertia that many experience when it comes to moving up The Bridge. They say they want to, they talk the talk and say all the right things, but they just don’t move. They don’t pick up a book or a checksheet and start. They don’t find an auditor and make it happen to get auditing. They put it in the “too hard basket” and say they will get to it in the future… but as the months and years go by, nothing happens.
The truth is, the one thing that we thetans have in common is the reactive mind – the bank.
It is the one thing that gets agreement and for which there is great reality.
Within the field there are no fully functioning “orgs” where a person can be 8Ced into the courseroom and into session – so the only way a person will move up is if they take themselves by the scruff of the neck and make themselves do it.
Problems, middle class values and expectancies, economic and governmental duress, and day-to-day survival in a cut-throat and dangerous environment, are real. They are agreed upon and surround us. They take attention units, time, money and energy. They are repeated and parroted through all possible channels. And this is so very real and pressing for many, that they become all encompassing.
Low-toned, critical commentary on Scientology or LRH gets agreement.
Suspicion, rumour and false reports are tantalising, sensational and grab attention – no matter how false. It is just the bank at work.
Hope for freedom fades as they find themselves in failed purposes and back into the trap of the bank.
People even back-peddle on wins and gains they have personally experienced through Scientology, to be in agreement with others who are doing the same. It is nuts. But it is bank, and the bank is illogical.
It is a tough pill to swallow at times – but unless we personally take ourselves by the scruff of the neck and pull ourselves out of the muck, we will forever wallow in it, or sink below it.
My personal resolution is continue on my SHSBC checksheet and continue on my SOLO NOTs, every day – no matter what. As I have done this, my own reality has changed vastly and the problems fall away.
Just don’t agree with bank.
Don’t follow lemmings off the cliff.
You can stand alone on that cliff and change the course of your life forever, without going down with the crowd. Instead get off the dwindling spiral and open an LRH book, complete a checksheet, complete an auditing level.
“The common denominator of a group is the reactive bank. Thetans without banks have different responses. They only have their banks in common. They agree then only on bank principles. Person to person the bank is identical. So constructive ideas are individual and seldom get broad agreement in a human group. An individual must rise above an avid craving for agreement from a humanoid group to get anything decent done.” LRH, KSW1
